Call for Entries: UNESCO’s Open Photography Competition to celebrate ‘International Literacy Day’

Kathmandu, August 12, 2017: On the occasion of 51st International Literacy Day, 8 September 2017, UNESCO Office in Kathmandu, in collaboration with the Non-Formal Education Center, is organizing an open photography competition on the theme “Literacy in a Digital World”.

This year’s global theme examines and highlights what kind of literacy skills people need to navigate increasingly digitally-mediated societies, and explores effective literacy policies and programmes that can leverage the opportunities that the digital world provides.

This photography competition is among the many activities organized by UNESCO and the Non-Formal Education Centre to celebrate the annual International Literacy Day.

Entry rules:

  1. The competition is open to Nepali citizens only.
  2. Entries shall be judged by a professional jury on creativity, originality and relevance to the theme.

The top 10 photographs will receive certificates, while the top three will be awarded cash prizes of Rs. 10,000, Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 2,500.
