Kathmandu, July 27, 2018: Operational Research Society of Nepal (ORSN) is organizing 11th triennial Asia Pacific Operation Research Society (APORS) conference in 2018 in August 6-9, 2018 at Kathmandu, Nepal. The conference theme is “Operations Research and Development”.

Established on February 1, 2007, operational Research Society of Nepal (ORSN) has aspired to work to capitalize the applicability of Operations Research in the related fields and also to develop a common platform for the operations management, information management and management science professionals to advocate the applicability of the operational research for sustainable development.

Association of Asia Pacific Operation Research Society (APORS) is a regional grouping within the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (IFORS). The aim of APORS is to promote operational research as a highly-valued discipline and a well-respected profession within the Asia-Pacific region. Information sharing and exchanges within APORS have been increasingly strengthened to promote OR development in its members and outreach within IFORS. It promotes exchanges and collaborations between OR societies within Asia-Pacific region and also between APORS member societies and other OR societies within IFORS.

There are delegates from about 30 countries of the world including USA, Canada, UK, Spain, other European and Asian countries. About 159 abstracts were submitted among which about 115 papers accepted for the conference. There are significant number of Nepalese abstract also.

There are 14 keynote and plenary papers, 46 invited and 48 technical papers. The highlight of the conference is the panel discussion with Sung-Joo Park, the founder member of APORS in 1986, and Mahabir Pun, distinguished personality of Nepal. There are 4 plenary sessions, 10 invited with two parallel sessions each and 6 technical sessions with 3 parallel session each.
The event incorporates web presentation in one session from Germany (teleconferencing),There are scope of Poster presentation as well.
