The Yale Drama Series is now calling for submissions of applications from the emerging playwrights for the 2018 edition of the contest.
The Yale Drama Series is an annual international competition for emerging playwrights. The winner of the contest receives David Charles Horn prize of $10,000, publication of their manuscript by Yale University Press and a professional staged reading at Lincoln Center’s Claire Tow Theater a professional staged reading. Emerging playwrights from all over the world can submit their work for the contest in English language.
The submissions must be original full-length plays written in English. According to the organizers, translations, musicals, adaptations, and children’s plays will not be accepted into the contest. The Drama series is intended to support emerging original playwrights, they added.
Only one submission per person is accepted and the plays should be typed/word-processed, page-numbered and formatted in professional play format. The playwrights can submit their manuscripts electronically or physically. The electronic version can be submitted by accessing the link here and the hard copy of the manuscript can be submitted through mail at Yale Drama Series, P.O. Box 209040, New Haven, CT 06520-9040.
The last date for submission of manuscripts is 15th of August, 2018.
