“Youth for power shift”  program was successfully organized on 18th August at National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC) with a joint collaboration of Power Shift Nepal, YUWA  and US Youth Council (USYC) .

The main concern  of the program was to promote healthy networking and creative knowledge discussion  among Power Shifters, members of YUWA and Youths Council members  about their ideas and current efforts on promoting environmental sustainability. The other area was to explore the possible areas for collaboration in reaching the common  in coming days.

Around 100 active  youths participated in the program where the youths shared their experiences and knowledge with great enthusiasm. The representatives of Youth Council mainly shared about the objectives, activities, goals and achievements of US youth council whereas the representatives of Power shift Nepal shared their experiences of 2.5 month long Power shift campaign against climate change. Similarly, representative from YUWA also highlighted the activities carried by them. The Power shifters  also openly invited  common youth to join power shift for next phase of Power Shift Campaign.

The other attractions of the program were documentaries from each team and informative drama from Power Shift Nepal giving the message about climate change. Finally the program ended with informal session of networking among the Youth Council members and Power Shifters.

Moreover, this program was successful in providing platform for the youth to come together to build a bigger and stronger team to fight against a sensitive issue ‘climate change’ which affects every individual, society, nation and the world.
