Kathmandu, July 4, 2018: The sixth session of EmpowHER 2018 was held on Saturday, June 30 which focused on idea pitching and strengthening. We started our session from the energizer done by Yajaswi Rai which was very interesting and fun.
In the session, Aastha Joshi, changemaker of EmpowHER 2016, shared about her journey of EmpowHER and her commitment to her project. We gave her a small token of love with the core values of EmpowHER 2018 – equity, diversity, compassion. She shared a quote that she learned from her mentor, “If you fail in attempt you can do better than in your next attempt.”
We had yet another guest speaker, Anish Shrestha, the CEO of Fawesome Apps, who talked to us about idea pitching and strengthening. He also made every changemaker speak about our own ideas gave us feedback, suggestions and advice.
The next session was given by Yajaswi Rai which was about presentation skills. In the session she asked lots of questions and examples which made our class very interesting and understandable. Most importantly, she said, “Practice is the key to a successful presentation.” In a good presentation we should give more focus to the audience. She also talked about elements of communication that very important to be a good presenter. Overall the session was very interesting and productive for the changemakers.
