Baglung, Nov 4,2014: Every student has a sense of attachment and belongings to the school as a source of their learning and knowledge. Only completing study from the institution is indeed not considered fulfillment of own duty to the school.

No matter where they are in pursuit of education and employment, there are still many students who cherish their thought to contribute to the enrichment of their school.

Somnath Sapkota, an ex-student of Janajagriti higher secondary school based in Kandebas VDC, Baglung, is one of  such visionary students striving something to do for his school. He has accomplished an exemplary work by establishing e-library in the school he studied.

Sapkota, who now is the deputy coordinator of Non Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Europe, campaigned for the cause of expanding knoeldge to school students through e-library.

He had launched a facebook campaign to raise fund for the setup of library in the school. Some 136 ex-students from across the globe came together through social media to support the cause.

They were able to collect Rs 2.27 million to nurture the idea to operate e-library in the school, Sapkota said, adding, “Our campaign has come true now are we are confident that the library would bring about big change among students in obtaining knowledge”.

An e-library has been established in the school at the cost of Rs 566,000 from among the fund raised by ex-students. With support of ex-students, there are 15 computer and a projector in the school library now, said Library Management Committee Chairperson Pavitra Budhathoki.
