Nepal in Top 9 Position for an International Video Competition

Glocal Khabar, Kathmandu, 27th November 2014, A video made by +5:45 productions, a group of Nepalese film makers, has been selected among the top nine videos in the prestigious tvebiomovies2014 competition. The proposal for the film was selected from among 225 proposals received from 61 countries. Tvebiomovies, now in its fifth year has been inspiring young filmmakers from around the world to make videos and aware the world about environment. “Life Without Bam Boon”, a humorous video made by the Nepalese youths, is based on the importance of Bamboo.

+5:45 productions, a group of 18 youths from Nepal, have made videos ranging from Nepalese elections to AIDS. The group has already won the tvebiomovies2013 competition with a video named “The Foolish Guy”, which was also screened at UN Climate Conference COP 19 in Warsaw, Poland in 2013.”Life without Bam boon” competing this year, has already been screened at Convention of Biological Diversity in Pyeongchang, Korea this October. The video with the most number of views by 15 December, will win the competition. “The introduction of the video was shot in Lumbini, Nepal. Even with our small efforts, we want the world to know about Buddha and Nepal. “Says Mohan Khanal, Co-founder of the +5:45 production group. “Winning the competition this year will provide us stimulus to use medium of film to disseminate awareness about the environment” says Ashesh Bhandari, Co-founder of +5:45 productions.
