Samriddhi, The Prosperity Foundation organizes grand closing of Global Entrepreneurship Week Nepal 2014

Kathmandu Dec 19, 2014 : Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) has been celebrated by Samriddhi, The Prosperity Foundation since 2010 in Nepal in line with the international celebration in the near-last week of November every year since its inception in 2008. The initiative began as a celebration of innovators and job creators around the world, who work on developing new ideas and improving social and economic welfare in their respective countries and across borders.

With the same ideals in mind again this year, Samriddhi, the official country host for GEW, and its partners celebrated GEW 2014 from 17th November to 1st December, 2014, with a series of events that highlighted national entrepreneurs, the ending of which is going to marked by a grand closing ceremony at FNCCI, Teku on 19th of December, 2014.

The celebration of GEW 2014 consisted of bringing to the public the amazing work that a number of local entrepreneurs had been engaged in through over a dozen activities and programs. Events were not limited to discussions with industry pioneers, but extended to involving participants in understanding the world of economics through debates, trainings on entrepreneurship and communication skills and story-telling sessions, hosted by renowned entrepreneurs.

The closing ceremony of the global event hosted by Samriddhi plans to felicitate and honor namely four entrepreneurs of the country, namely, Prem Lama of Ashapauri Organic Farm, Lamxi Sharma of Laxmi Woodcraft Udhyog, Chattra Hari Karki of Midas Group and Shanti and Nirjala Shrestha of Friends Handicraft. These entrepreneurs have been pioneers in their own fields of agriculture, craftsmanship, innovation and technology and creativity in their own rights.

The event partners were Atharva Business College, Bikalpa – An Alternative Biruwa Ventures, Central College, Entrepreneurs for Nepal, FACTS Research & Analyticsm, Gari Khana Deu Campagign, Kantipur City College, Kathmandu College of Management, King’s College, Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FNCCI), Laxmi Group, LEAD International, Nepalese Young Entrepreneurs’ Forum (NYEF), Prisma Advertising, Students for the Advance of Global Entrepreneurship Nepal (SAGE Nepal), Thinkfusion.
