Campaign ad Kasto purushUNDP Nepal has created a platform to gear up against prevailing high level of women violence in Nepalese society. With the objective to break the chain of violence and make behavioral changes in action, UNDP Nepal has focused young groups; primarily age group of 13-19 years and their willingness to question social norms.

Traditional perception of what it means to be a man or women are so deep-seated that even the most conscious individuals do not question them- making them so widely acceptable.

What if we changed places for a day? Would people notice how abnormal the normal is?

The following animated videos flip gender roles , de- familiarize the familiar so as to provoke thinking in this area.

What do you think? Is it time to change? What will you do to help change harmful perceptions of what it means to be a man or woman?”

The programs under this initiation includes:

Online interactive quiz for Facebook that turns how young people view gender roles in society inside out and back to front.

Six animated videos each followed by multiple choice questions, depict situations where traditional roles have been inverted so as to raise user’s awareness of their own potential prejudices and stereotypes.

In reply women says,”if it is so difficult for you to tolerate chance physical encounters in crowded spaces, you should have a private vehicle or hire a cab.”

Each animated videos among six videos focuses on specific from of violence such as harassment, domestic, political and sexual  violence.

All videos will be launched through social media channels of UNDP with the aim to reach out large audience.

In partnership with University  of Chicago Gaming Lab, the design of the gaming framework has been done with technical expertise which incorporates the animated videos and quiz questions in an interesting package.
