Pokhara, September 1 : Gandaki Zonal level literary program organized by Shami Literary Academy, Kathmandu, concluded in Pokhara of kaski districts on Saturday.
At the program, Yadunandan Upadhyay presented a working paper on the literary history and activities of Gandaki Zone.
Commenting on the working paper, dramatist Ashesh Malla and Lyricist Krishnshari Baral said geniuses like Lekhnath Poudel, Madhav Ghimire, Mukundashran Upadhyay and Ali Miya born in Gandaki had tremendous contribution in Nepali literature.
They also stressed in separate studies of talents writing inside the zone, those coming from outside and those going outside from there.
This was the second program as part of the academy’s program in 14 zones and the first was concluded in Dhawalagiri, said its secretary Sriom Shrestha.
He also informed that the academy has declared to present a Rs. 90,000-Sahitya Sadhana award to culture expert Tejeswor Babu Gwong and Rs, 25,000 Shami Youth Encouragement Prize to Nepal cricket team captain Paras Khadka.
Academy patron Dolindra Prasad Sharma also said the Sadhana prize was being given to leading literatures reaching 70 years of age.
Litterateur Pradip Nepal Dinanath Sharma said the history of the leading talents should not forgotten.
Some three dozen poets including Kabita Club Nepal Chairman Ramesh Shrestha, litterateur Jaya Chhangcha, Fanindra Sangam, Saraswoti Pratiksha, Ishwormani Adhikari and Saraswoti Shrestha Saru also read out their creations.
