Kathmandu, Dec 6,2014: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Saturday arrested the Golden Gate College Director and teacher for leaking the entrance question papers of the examinations held for scholarships under the MBBS degree by the Ministry of Education.
The anti-graft body made the arrest acting on a tip-off that the teachers had been collecting money with a promise to provide students of MBBS question papers’ section ‘A’ and ‘B’.
Golden Gate International College’s Director Deviram Pandey and teacher Prabhat Kumar Kusawaha are found to have taken Rs 1 million from nine students.
They were arrested red-handed while distributing the question papers at Rato Pool in the capital city. The CIAA has also arrested the College’s another teacher Khecharlal Sapkota, mediator Maheshwor Prasad Yadav among seven others involved in the crime.
The MBBS scholarship examinations were held at various centers in the capital on Saturday. The question papers were leaked before the examinations started.
The CIAA had launched a subtle investigation a few days ago after information of the alleged transaction with the students.
The examinations are held by the Ministry of Education with an aim to provide scholarships to students seeking a career in medical science. All of the arrested with be kept in custody for further investigation, CIAA said.
