19 years-old Rizma Joshi is an enthusiastic learner and a leader who wants to create employment opportunities in Nepal in the game development sector.
Joshi Co-Founded Sroth Code Academy- an IT and Creative agency on February 2016, with the motive of creating job opportunities through IT skills. The academy teaches students about the development of websites, games, apps, graphics, and digital marketing. They also perform web development, app and games development, and social media marketing.
Currently, Sroth Code employs about a dozen of youths and has been an outstanding plaform for teenagers to showcase their talents.
Joshi is also handling the digital marketing of over a dozen major Nepali as well as international brands.
Early this year, Sroth Code team developed Haku Run mobile game, the first official game based on a Nepali movie. The game, based on the movie LOOT 2, was successful to get downloaded over 10,000 times just within the span of 3 days. And they are on the verge of making 24 games this year.
Educating internet users about Nepali culture through games
“Our main objective is to entertain, inform and educate via our games. That’s what makes our idea innovative. We differentiate from the company with similar business as we intend to make games on popular culture of our country,” Joshi shares. “Mobile games are played by all age-groups of people, from little children to senior people. If a game is entertaining in one hand, and informative and educational on the other, users will be benefited from the proper information we represent via games,” she adds about the motive behind promoting Nepali culture through games.
Joshi is working to develop game making as the full-time career in Nepal.
