Kathmandu, December 8, 2017: Paths Education, in collaboration with International Center at the University of Missouri, is organizing American Summer Leadership Program 2018, to be held in University of Missouri, Columbia. The program aims to bring promising high school students from Nepal (10-12 and A levels) to participate in the 9 days summer workshop.

The program will introduce these students to American culture, entrepreneurship, and leadership through this intensive, yet fun academic program. Students will be exposed to faculty in various disciplines along with guest speakers from government and industry.

They will engage in challenging exercises to develop leadership skills, team-building, debate and argumentation, problem-solving skills, and English skills (as needed for college in the US). The program aims to make them familiar with the American education system and teaches them to explore academic and scholarship opportunities available.

James K. Scott, Dr. Edward Brent and Dr. Joan Hermsen, Renne Hoagenson, Amit Prasad, Dr. Abdoulaye Bah, Yangmali Sahadev Rai, Professor Henry Landry and Moises Arce are among the nine speakers for the program. Also, the participants will have occasional day trips to Jefferson City, Kansas City and St. Louis. They will be residing in a MU dormitory of the university which will help them experience sample college life in America.

The program will be held in two sessions: the first session from April 6-14 and the second session from July 6-14.

Program Fee of $1500 will cover tuition for program, meals-breakfast, lunch and dinner for 9 days, accommodation, pick up and drop off from Columbia airport during arrival and departure and trips to St. Louis, Jefferson, Kansas City and Columbia Mall.
