Â Ratnanagar (Chitwan), 24th December,2014 : Non-Resident Nepalese (NRN) in America and locals have provided financial assistance worth Rs 200,000 for the education of the children of the Chepang community at Gambeshi Chepang Protection Centre in Ratnanagar Municiality-10.
Chepang are an indigenous group of people in Nepal whose habitat is rugged ridges of Mahabhrata mountain range of
central Nepal. Their lifestyle is semi-nomadic.
Nepalese working in America have collected fund worth Rs 185,000 for this purpose under the leadership of Bikashraj Neupane in America who hails from Ratnanagart-9, Chitwan.
The centre which has been providing education to Chepang children also received aid from the local entrepreneurs worth Rs 15,000, according to KP Kiran Sharma, the Chairman of the Centre.
The aid will be utilized for the educational activities, including building a school for the Chepang kids.
