First Differently Abled Idol 2016 Grand Finale on Dec 31

Being held for the first time in Nepal, the competition is also looking for a title sponsor for the grand finale.

Being organized with the slogan “Nothing is Impossible”, Differently Abled Idol seeks to bring out the talents in the three particular sectors: singing, dancing and painting and show to the society that nothing is impossible and none are incapable. The grand finale of the competition is slated for December 31, 2016, and will be held at SR Banquet in Chabhil.

Sharing the idea behind organizing the talent hunt among differently abled people in Nepal, Programme Coordinator Chitra Poudel says that though there are numerous kinds of such competitions being held regularly, none of these have ever tried to include differently abled people into such competitions. “Differently abled people are considered to be incapable. Through the competition, we want to encourage them and bring their talents forward,” Poudel adds.

Sharing the essence of the competition, he says that their talents have been limited to the streets till now. Through this programme, we want to give them a new identity and take their talent to a next level.”

“As the event is going to be grand, the preparation is very hectic,” shares Poudel about his daily routines these days.

Among 350 contestants who applied for the competition, 35 were selected from the audition to enter the second round of the competition. Similarly, the second round selected top 10 contestants, who will now fight in the final round.

The contestants are currently undergoing through a rigorous trainings and preparation for the grand finale of the talent for the differently abled ones.In the competition, a four-member jury panel comprising of Singers Hemant Sharma and Reema Gurung Hoda, Choreographer Shiva Bk and Artist Sanjay Bantawa will be judging the contestants on the basis of their performance.

The finalists in the championship will also be showing their talents on the occasion. Four guest artists Binu Lamichhane Magar, Rona Neupane, Muskan Singh and Durga Kshetri Nepal will also be performing different musical numbers to entertain the audiences that day.

The Grand Finale of the competition will be held in the presence of the dignitaries from the government, policymakers, diplomats, youth leaders and the representatives of the organizations working for the physically challenged people.

The ‘Differently Abled Idol’ will be felicitated with a cash prize of Rs50,000 along with a 7-days Dubai tour while the first and second runner-ups will be awarded with cash prizes of Rs20,000 and Rs15,000 respectively.

Dr Satkurt Salvator and Nisha Pathak will be emceeing the event.

Entry tickets are priced at Rs. 1000.

The organizer asks everyone to support this event and recognize the the talents in differently abled people in our country by being part of the grand finale day.
