Kathmandu, November 23, 2017: A Nepali team comprising entrepreneurs and initiators of startup movement in Nepal is leaving for Hyderabad, India to participate in the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017.

The summit, jointly organized by the USA and India this 28-30 November, will highlight the theme Women First, Prosperity for All, and will focus on supporting women entrepreneurs and fostering economic growth globally.  Advisor to the President Ivanka Trump will headline the United States delegation to the Summit.

On the same background, U.S. Embassy in Nepal on Tuesday, November 21, hosted an innovative policy reform program called ‘Tiger Pitch’ at Innovation Hub Kathmandu.

Six Nepali contestants ‘pitched’ one policy reform to improve the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Nepal. Three Judges – Chargé d’Affaires Michael C. Gonzales, Foreign Advisor to the Prime Minister Dr. Dinesh Bhattarai and Executive Director of Tara Oriental Mridula Rajbhandari – listened to these entrepreneurs discuss their challenges in the domestic business environment, offering feedback on ways to improve their pitches as well as their insights on actions the government could take to help drive economic development in Nepal. All the six contestants were selected to represent Nepal in the Summit.
