Kathmandu, December 8, 2017: Tribhuvan University has decided to launch a master’s level course in Sports Science from February 2018. Realising the need for an academic course in sports, Tribhuvan University came up with this program and anyone holding a bachelors degree is eligible to apply for it.
The curriculum is already designed and the classes are expected to start from the mid-February. A selection test will be conducted to select the best students. Written exam and physical test are the criteria.
The program will consist of eight courses including sports medicine, sports psychology, sports injuries and physiotherapy, sports sociology and sports physiology. The faculty members are well qualified with a degree from foreign universities.
After completing the studies, students can work as a fitness instructor, sports teacher and coach, among others.
The course will help to generate the manpower who can assist Nepali athletes technically before, during and after the competition.
