Youth Thinkers’ Society to organize Fifth Everest International Model United Nations

Kathmandu, February 19, 2018: Youth Thinkers’ Society (YTS) in collaboration with the US Embassy Nepal is set to conduct the fifth edition of Everest International Model United Nations (EIMUN) 2018 from May 7 to May 11, 2018, in Kathmandu.

The residential conference is open to people from any nation. The selected participants will present themselves as delegates to several countries and research on a country they are assigned. They will investigate international contextual and contemporary issues, debate, consult and then develop solutions to world problems. They will engage in a multilateral diplomatic setting, dialogues, and debates pertinent to contemporary global issues and make practical resolutions drawn from intellectual discourse.

As many as 200 young participants will gather in Kathmandu to discuss issues like implementation of UNSC Resolution 2250 on youth, peace, and security, use of Artificial Intelligence for achieving SDGs and advancing human rights, formulating and implementing sustainable policies to ensure women’s access to economic resources. It also aims to include other agendas such as cryptocurrency, a new approach for foreign aids, global health, corruption, and entrepreneurship.

Apart from the academic aspects, the conference will provide an opportunity to participants to merge with the diverse MUN crowd which can be helpful in various aspects of life and will broaden the horizon of knowledge. It will also help in personality development and intellectual modeling of the participants.

Youth Thinkers’ Society (YTS) is a non- governmental organization working with the fundamental aim to empower young minds since its initiation in 2014. With the motto to create the pool of global thinking youths, developing employability and entrepreneurial skills, it has been regularly carrying out youth engagement programs.
