Kathmandu, August 17, 2015: The two-day-long nationwide general strike forced by the agitating political parties that are not satisfied to the draft of the new constitution has partially affected  normal life in the capital city.

Compared to yesterday, more shops have opened in the inner parts of the town and more vehicles are seen on the streets. Some vehicles including microbuses are offering services to the daily travellers.

The presence of the agitating cadres is not seen on the streets but a large number of security personnel have been deployed in the major areas.

Untoward incident has not been heard so far in the valley according to Senior Superintendent of Police Narayan Singh Khadka.

At the same time , at Kalimati in the capital city this morning, the banda enforcers destroyed a jeep with Indian number plate (BR 06 C 3980). According to the Police Circle, Kalimati, the jeep with the Indian number plate was vandalised by two unknown persons coming by a motorcycle. Police said that those involved in accident are still at large.
