Looking for love and acceptance

Abhaya and The Stream injuns back with new album

Kathmandu, August 8, 2016: Abhaya & The Steam Injuns are ready to rock music lovers with their new songs. With the rocking spirit, they launched their seven-song album Looking For Love at Karma Bar & Lounge, Tripureshwor on August 6.

“We have been doing varieties of songs since our first album. We are not genre specific,” Abhaya Subba Weise, founding member and vocalist of the rock band shared and added, “We hope we have evolved as musicians. We have songs that deal with death — like Maajhi Dai, which is a spiritual song.Badal is a song about women empowerment, Easy to Say is about domestic violence and we have three love songs.”

Poet Biplov Pratik, Supreet Raj Pradhan and Subba Weise have penned the songs for the album. All songs have been composed by Subba Weise except for Nagarana, which is a collaboration of  guitarist Rajiv Rinchen Palzar and Subba Weise.

It is the fourth album of the band that comprises Palzar on guitars, Sonam Lama on bass, Nikesh Karki on keyboards and Nabin Thapa Magar on drums along with Subba Weise.

Their last album TriSoul was released in 2012. And four years later, they are back with “varieties of songs”. Some other songs of the new album include Looking For Love, Nagarana, Sakdina Part 2 and Nepali Naari.

Talking about the title of the album, Subba Weise expressed, “We are looking for acceptance. Accepting is love. Everyone is looking for acceptance and love.” Thus, they have named their album Looking For Love. The band also gave an enthralling performance during the launching event. The band took the audience to their musical journey as they performed their new and old songs.

Abhaya & The Steam Injuns will start their Nepal tour on August 10 for the promotion of their new album.
