NA choppers dispatched to supply relief materials to flood-stricken areas

Baglung, July 21, 2016: Nepal Army choppers have been dispatched to the flood-stricken areas of western Nepal to supply relief materials after rescue teams using land routes were struck on the way.

The NA choppers had transported relief materials to Adhikarichaur and Bongadovan VDCs in two phases on Saturday.

The Integrated Service Centre, Burtiwang, is overseeing the distribution of the relief supplies, informed SP Chakra Bahadur Singh of the Baglung District Police Office.

Singh added that 30 sack rice, 80 kg beaten rice, 100 kg pulses, 50 kg salt, 50 packet edible oil, 50 set tarps, cooking utensils and clothes were distributed at Adhikarichaur.

Meanwhile, 30 sack rice grains, 80 kg beaten rice, 100 kg pulses, 50 kg salt, 50 packet edible oil, 30 set tarps, 50 set blankets, clothes and cooking utensils were distributed in Bungkhani area of Bongadovan.

The government has been facing difficulties to send rescue teams to the flood-stricken areas due to obstructions caused by landslides.
