Nepal clinches second position in paragliding championship

Pokhara: Nepal has clinched the second position in  World Cup Asian Tours and Nepal Open Paragliding Championship of the 19th edition of the Paragliding World Cup kicked off in Pokhara. Nepal became second in the 42.7 kilometres cross-country event under the World Cup Qualifiers.

The world cup is to be organized by Nepal Air Sports Association (NAA) with the support of Nepal Paragliding, Handgliding Association, and Nepal Paragliding Pilots’ Club.

Championship Director, Bimal Adhikari said that Korea is leading in the team event. It is in the first berth with 20 points while Nepal stands in the second position with 17 points. Likewise, Nepal’s other team Team Everest’ took third place with 13 points.

Based on point and ranking this year, the selected competitors, from the Asian Tour scheduled for Indonesia and China along with Nepal will enter the Paragliding World Cup Super Final to be held in 2021.
