Poem Marathon to rock Bhaktapur Durbar Square this Saturday

Kathmandu, April 27, 2017: After the grand success of the Poem Marathon at Basantapur Durbar Square, YOUthVoteNepal campaign is all set to host a similar kind of programme in Bhaktapur this Saturday.

The event, which is going to be held at Bhaktapur Durbar Square is an open poem citation where interested youths can cite their poems focusing on the theme of Youth Leadership, Election, and Youth Candidacy. The programme is expected to be witnessed by hundreds of youths and general public from the locality.

The YOUthVoteNepal campaign was launched about a month ago to carry out advocacy on youths’ agendas during the upcoming local elections. As part of the campaign, memorandums have been submitted to various political parties to promote youth and women leadership for the upcoming local level elections, and not to mobilize school children during the electioneering. The campaigners have also been on delegations to National Human Rights Commission, Election Commission, and Central Child Welfare Board. Along with these activities, the campaigners have also staged a street play to raise awareness of the general public about the local election.

Do you also love writing poems, and want a crowd to enjoy your poetry? Then, why don’t you join this programme?

Let’s help spread awareness on the local election.

Date: April 29, 2017 (Saturday)

Time: 3:00 – 5:00 PM

Along with this, YOUthVoteNepal is also coming up with Poem Marathons in various other cities of Nepal. The next sessions of Poem Marathon will be simultaneously held at Taulihawa of Kapilvastu and Haramtari of Gorkha on May 2.
