Hetauda, October 7, 2018: Scholarships is to be provided to the students studying Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery by Bagmati Rural Municipality.
Sarkesh Ghalan, Chairman of Rural Municipality stated, “There are no students from rural municipality who has completed MBBS yet. Therefore, this scholarship scheme is introduced to enable the capable students to pursue MBBS and to encourage them to practice in rural areas.
He added, “The scholarships would be provided from the current fiscal year. The scholarship scheme will be full or partial depending on the student’s financial condition.”
The rural municipality lacks the health workers and doctors as they do not prefer serving at the health post in the rural municipality. There are nine wards in the rural municipality.
Raju Aryal, Administrative Officer of Rural Municipality said, “There are 18 people including 4 males are studying technical courses with the financial support of rural municipality. The fund has supported students to study Junior Technical Assistant course as they pledge to assist farmers after the completion of their course.”
