Mustang, 13 December 2015: Some schools in Mustang district, the district beyond the Himalayas, have been closed for two months with the growing cold. The schools are closed for two months every year during the winter as the upper parts of the district witness continuous snowfall and an increase in cold.
However, some schools of six different VDCs of the district have been shifted to Kaski district and students are now being taught through mobile schools.
The District Education Officer Keshari Raman Neupane shared that the teaching learning activities in the district were closed from December 11 for two months due to fall in mercury. Meanwhile, women and children have been the hardest hit with the steady dip in the mercury .
