Kathmandu, October 26, 2016: Visualise VR, a tech startup company providing VR/AR services from Nepal has won the Seedstars Kathmandu, a competition organized by Seedstars World in partnership with Microsoft Innovation Center Nepal.

The selected 8 best startups from Nepal viz. Dreamic, Echo Innovators, Enigma Apps, Sewa Sansar, Endeavor Pvt. Ltd, Tuki Labs, Ultimate Solution and Visualise VR had pitched their ideas in front of the investment panel and competed to be crowned the most promising seed-stage startup of Seedstars Kathmandu 2016.

The five member jury panel comprising of Siddhant Pandey, Chairman & CEO, Business Oxygen Pvt. Ltd; Wellington Perera, DX Lead, Microsoft; Sophie Kemkhadze, UNDP Deputy Country Director, UNDP Nepal; Rajendra Khetan, CEO, Khetan Group; and J Young Lee, Chief Strategy Officer at Sentbe had selected Visualise VR as the winner, among the total of the 8 startups representing the grand finale of the Kathmandu edition of the competition.

Visualise VR creates effective and economic mixed reality applications to make digital content come to life. As the growth potential in the traditional software development setups in developing countries has become limited due to market saturation, by providing VR/AR services through a developing country in an economic and impactful way, the startup seeks to help create jobs and cater global demand as well.

“It’s our thought and approach for both the local and global market led us to win the competition,” said Sanjesh Khadgi of the Visualise VR. The virtual reality app, released earlier this year has already been familiar among thousands of users in the USA, UK, India and Nepal. “Till now, we have invested the money we have earned working in other sectors into the app. Today onwards, after getting the award and such a recognition, we are determined to focus solely on the very app, promote it globally and make the app a huge success,” further shared Khadgi talking about their future strategy.

With this victory, the team Visualise VR has won a free trip to Bangkok, Thailand to participate in a 3-day bootcamp this December, and to Lausanne, Switzerland in the next April for the Seedstars Summit, where they will compete against entrepreneurs from all around the world and be a part of a global network, a catalytic platform for high growth emerging market startups.

The winner in the global Summit will receive an equity investment of up to USD 500K & meet with investors from around the world.
