Top 40 Women Entrepreneurs selected in Palpa

Palpa, June 19, 2016: Top 40 women entrepreneurs have been selected in the Palpa District. They were selected among the total of 251 participants in the Daayitwa Women Enterprise Challenge 2016 jointly organized by DAAYITWA and Innovation Action Palpa in the district.

The top 40 entrepreneurs were awarded with certificates amidst a special programme on Saturday. Tulsa Aryal, women development officer at the Women and Children Office in the district, also the Chief Guest for the programme said that programmes like this will play a significant role to promote women entrepreneurship in Nepali villages.

She urged the participating ladies to continue with the journey of entrepreneurship and requested them to bring others also to pursue entrepreneurship.

Minu Maharjan, Programme Officer of DAAYITWA, shared that out of the 251 participants, top 40 were selected on the basis of the information filled in the forms.

She also mentioned that top 20 will be selected on the basis of SMS voting. “Further, to select top 10 out of them, we will be reaching out to their homes and observe how they have been taking their enterprises forward,” she shared. “After the selection, each of these 10 entrepreneurs will be awarded with NRs. 25,000 each.”

In the programme that began with the welcome speech by the treasurer of the organization, DhruvaRaj Bhandari, personalities from different walks of life, including Bhagwan Bhandari, Senior Advisor at the organization; Rajendra Ligal, President of the Press Chautari Nepal Palpa Chapter; and entrepreneurs Keshav Karki and Gomadevi Gaihre wished for the success of the programme.
