August 19, 2016: The Nepal cricket team returned home on Friday morning after playing two matches in the Netherlands against the hosts under the ICC World Cricket League Championship.

Of two, Nepal won the second match against the hosts by 19 runs, on August 15. They had lost the first match by seven wickets, on August 13.

Upon their arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport today, the team members said they were hopeful of being selected for the 2019 ICC World Cup Qualifiers.

Recalling the victory over the hosts, player Sharad Vesawkar said, “We will perform better in upcoming matches and make Nepal selected for the Qualifies.”

The Dutchmen’s defeat at the hands of Nepal was the first loss for the top-table team, who have so far earned 12 points.

The top four teams of the eight-team group will earn berths in the 2019 ICC World Cup Qualifiers. Nepal are at the sixth position with six points.

They have only won three matches – two against Namibia played in Kathmandu and the recent one against the Netherlands – among the six played.
