Kathmandu, February 15, 2018: Nepal Astronomical Society (NASO) has opened up its application for ‘ Second NASO Women In Science Award 2018’ (NASO-WiSA2018). The deadline to submit the application is March 8, 2018.
NASO awards Nepali women who have been contributing in the field of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). The award is an initiative of Women in Astronomy Nepal (WIAN) which aims to identify and promote Nepali girls and women working on STEM.
The award will be distributed into two categories: students and professionals. Students and professionals will bag a cash prize of NRs 15,000 and NRs 25,000 respectively. Trophy and certificate will also be distributed to both categories. The award will be distributed on April 12, 2018, during the main event of International Day of Human Space Flight 2018 at Russian Center of Science and Culture, Kamalpokhari, Kathmandu, Nepal.
