Student Committee of British Model College to conduct British Model College Model United Nations (BMCMUN 2018)

Kathmandu, February 5, 2018: With an aim of recreating United Nations processes, resolutions and diplomacy as well as to let the participants an insight of international relations and politics, the student committee of the British Model College is set to organize an inter-college event of British Model College Model United Nations (BMCMUN 2018), from February 12 to February 14, 2018 at The British College, Trade Tower, Thapathali, Kathmandu.

The motto of the fourth edition of BMCMUN is “Discover | Learn | Grow”. This motto’s sole purpose is not only to summarize the purpose of BMCMUN but to motivate the young diplomats to discover themselves by building their confidence and social skills. Through this platform, they can learn how to debate, be cooperative and search for solutions as well as diplomatic processes and international resolutions. At the end of the session, not only can they bag the opportunity to grow as students, problem solvers, and diplomats, but they will also gain the fortifying skills to become a ‘human’.

The student committee of the British Model College (BMC), the sister organization of The British College, has the motive of providing the enthusiastic participants with an engaging ambiance of interaction, cooperation, research and interpersonal skills. The candidates of the MUN can convey the role of representatives of various nations and debate on the behalf of the existing issues or moral affairs.

The major committees to be moderated in this three-day event are UNSC, DISEC, ECOSOC, UNHSC, UNHRC and Legislative Parliament. These committees will be dealing about the international security issues and peacekeeping forces; disarmament of arms and ammunition; widespread economic and social issues; historical case of security issues; spreading and protecting of human rights across borders respectively. The Legislative Parliament, an all Nepali session committee to be moderated is third of its kind in the history of Nepali MUN session.

BMCMUN has had an increase in the enthusiastic forum of young candidates in its event since its inception.  Like its previous year, this year BCMUN is instigating to achieve a bigger, better as well as efficient and smooth running session.

Event Details

Venue: The British College, Trade Tower, Thapathali, Kathmandu.

Time: The first day of the event will begin at 9:30 am and end at 5:30 pm. The second and the third day of the event will begin at 9:30 am and end at 5:30 pm.
