ACC Youth Asia Cup: Nepal gets 228-run target

Kathmandu, December 15, 2016: Host team Sri Lanka has set a target of 228-runs for Nepal at the ACC U-19 Asia Cup being held in Colombo today.

Been to bat first after losing the toss, the Sri Lankan U-19 team made 227 runs losing all wickets in 49.6 overs.

The Nepali team has players Aadil Khan, Aasif Sheikh, DS Airee, KS Airee, A Karn, S Lamichhane*†, RK Paudel, KC Prakash, A Sah, P Sarraf, RJ Shahi, B Sharki, S Sunar and NK Yadav.

For Nepal, Kamal Singh Airee gave a promising start by claiming the wicket of Sri Lanka’s Vishva Chathuranga through a leg-before-wicket decision in the very first ball of the innings. He took a total of three Sri Lankan wickets.

Similarly, Pawan Sarraf made two wickets in his name followed by Dipendra Singh Airee claiming one Sri Lankan wicket.

The two teams are meeting each for the third time in history in the U-19 category.
