A total of Rs 73.38 billion was allocated for the current fiscal year, but so far, only Rs 6.17 billion has been spent.

Compared to the same period of the last year, Rs 10.17 billion was spent in the projects run with the foreign assistance.

Finance Minister Dr Ram Sharan Mahat has directed the project chiefs and the related bodies to augment the spending in view of the project goals. It was quite disappointing that less than five percent of the allocation was spent till the mid term of the fiscal year, he added.
