Beni (Myagdi), 14th February, 2015 :Â Â A total of Rs 1.60 billion has been invested in the small and cottage industries so far in the current fiscal year in the district.
As many as 727 small and cottage industries are in operation in the district, according to the Small and Cottage Industries Development Committee, Myagdi.
Last year, as many as 600 small and cottage industries were in operation, said the Committee.
Of the small and cottage industries run in the district, 212 are poultry farms, while 76 rice mills, 32 furniture industries, 79 dairies, and others.
Nearly 5,000 people have got employments through the industries. The monthly transaction of the industries is over Rs 3000 million, said Rameshraj Regmi, senior Industry Officer at the Committee.
A total of 23 cottage and 378 small industries were registered in the committee in the previous fiscal year.
