Kathmandu, September 21, 2017: Seedstars, a global startup idea competition is coming to Kathmandu.
The 10 best startups from Nepal will be invited to pitch in front of an investment panel and compete to be crowned the most promising seed-stage startup of Seedstars Kathmandu 2017.
Renowned personalities from the business and entrepreneurial world will be mentoring the startups selected for the competition.
The winner of the competition will get an opportunity to take part in the regional and global Seedstars Summits, and go to Switzerland to compete for over $1 million in investment.
Visualize VR, a Kathmandu based tech startup company providing VR/AR services from Nepal, had won the competition last year.
The competition runs in 60+ emerging markets having access to 1500+ entrepreneurs, investors, incubators, corporates etc. The local competitions identify the best seed-stage startups, give them pitch training and award the winners with an opportunity to compete in the Seedstars Summit where one of them will be crowned Seedstars World Global Winner.

After the ideas are evaluated and analyzed, selected ideas get a chance to fill up the final application of Seedstars world, from which top 8 startups are called to pitch their ideas in Seedstars Kathmandu 2017 that is going to be held on October 23.
Criteria to apply:
- The startup must be less than 2 years
- If the startup has received external funding, it can only be up to US$500 K
- The startup must have demonstrable product or service (Minimum Viable Product)
- The startup needs to be scalable or have the potential to reach the scalability
