CFLG Toolkits distributed on the occasion of Children’s Day

The Child Friendly Local Governance (CFLG) Pokhara Committee is working to make Pokhara a CFLG City by the year 2018.

For the same purpose, Pokhara Child Forum organized a CFLG Toolkits distribution programme on the occasion of National Children’s Day. Distributed to all the 29 wards in the rover of the member of Ward Child Forum and the Ward Secretary of Pokhara, the CFLG Toolkits will help them to get their work easier.

The programme was held on the Chairmanship of the President of Pokhara Child Forum, Anushreya Subedi and in the Chief Guest-ship of Mr. Hari Prasad Mainali, the Chief District Officer (CDO) of Kaski district. The programme had presence of various distinguished guests and prominent personalities, including the Kaski district President of Federation of Nepalese Journalist, Officer from the District Tax Office, Social Development Officer Mr. Arjun Neupane, Former President of District Child Forum Kaski, Mr. Deepak BK, some prominent political leaders, and the Pokhara CFLG Committee members. Also present in the programme were two children from each Ward Child Forum, Secretaries and Social Mobilizers of each of the 29 wards of Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City.

In the programme inaugurated by releasing the banner of the Children’s Day program by the CDO, the Secretary of Pokhara Child Forum explained about the purpose of providing the CFLG Toolkits for each Wards of the Pokhara City. The boxes contain First Aid kits, books, stationeries and sports materials.

The issues of street children and child labour was also raised in the programme and the authorities concerned said that it must be eliminated as soon as possible and all the children be provided with the right to education, a fundamental right in the Constitution of Nepal 2072.

Various guests present in the programme expressed their happiness to be part of the programme and lauded the organizers and wished for the success of the future programmes by the Pokhara Child Forum.
