Phalebas (Parbat), January  15, 2016: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, has expressed determination that the load shedding would be ended within a year in the country.
Speaking at cadres gathering at Kushma Bazaar in Parbat district this morning, DPM Rayamajhi said that the load shedding hour would be decreased after constructing the under construction projects through fast track.
Energy Minister Rayamajhi claimed that the load shedding would be ended as construction of hydro power projects would be concluded within a year and start producing around 250 MW electricity.
Stating that the government has been providing required fuel and raw materials to all projects during the blockade, he said that the hydel projects reached to its final phase of construction have accelerated works to produce the power.
The DPM said that initiatives were underway for making the country self-dependent in power by declaring energy crisis in the country and added that the government has reached its final step to formulate and implement the long-term plan for the same.
He further said that the government has already forwarded action plan in order to generate 10,000 MW electricity within 10 years.
DPM Rayamajhi confessed that the government has compulsion to increase load shedding, saying more than 500 transformers have so far went off after border blockade due to excessive consumption of electricity.
Minister Rayamajhi said the load shedding hour would be decreased soon after smooth supply in borders. He also claimed that there would be smooth supply in borders within a week as talks with the agitating Madhes-based political parties has reached closer to consensus and added that the incumbent government would not collapse now.
Similarly, DPM Rayamajhi also inspected the under construction Lower Madhikhola Hydropower Project this morning. On the occasion, he directed the bodies concerned to accelerate the construction task.
