New Delhi, April 14, 2015: Indian government has issued a nationwide terror alert, especially in Mumbai. India has followed intelligence inputs of a possible attack by Pakistan-based banned militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba, sources said on Tuesday.

Intelligence agencies have warned that terrorists may attack hotels and railway stations in Mumbai, like that of 2008 terror attacks, after entering the city by sea-route. The alert has now been extended to all Indian states, as per the source.

The alert was issued days after Zaki-ur Rehman Lakhvi, a top commander of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, was released from prison after a court in Pakistan ruled his detention illegal. Lakhvi was arrested in 2009, after the terror group attacked Mumbai that killed 170 innocent people.
