Kathmandu, June 26, 2017: Actress Manisha Koirala on Saturday provided financial assistance amounting to Rs 100 thousand to the National Hospital and Cancer Research Center operated under Cancer Care Nepal at Lalitpur.
The 46-year-old actress of Bollywood fame, who survived ovarian cancer in 2012, donated the amount to assist the poor and needy cancer patients.
The Hospital that lies at Jawalakhel in the district will utilize the amount to provide medical services for cancer to the patients from poor and backward families, said Hospital Chair Dr Madan Kumar Piya. The Hospital has been providing medical services worth Rs 100 thousand to the cancer patients as per the government’s scheme, said Dr Piya.
Meanwhile, more than 800 patients received check-up service at the free health camp set up by the Hospital in its premises on Saturday itself. Tests were related to cancer examination on breasts, uterus and abdomen among others.
