District-level Inter-School Essay Competition in two phases held

Nawalparasi, May 28, 2018: District-level Inter-School Essay competition was held on 25th May, 2018 in Nepal Secondary School of Devchuli, Nawalparasi in English and Nepali both phases. The topic given for the essay competition was “Impact Social Network in children”.  The competition was organized by Imbox Nepal, Nawalparasi.

According to the concerned children, discussions about the impact on children from social networks should be discussed very carefully. Following the essay writing in the competition, training session was conducted where children shared that great discussion should be organized in the same topic. Same thing was found in their writings as well and also added awareness among the participants is necessary said – Deepak Sharma, District Coordinator of Youth Affairs.

In general, only the negative impact of social networking was discussed in the community, and the family, the community did not follow the positive impact and the benefits of social networking. Children were very curious to know about the positive impact.

Students from Kalika Secondary School said that children have been watching different sports competition, dance competition along with their curriculum, and also see the world’s history, geography and other important things in social networks.

Social networking plays important role in socializing with the people in community; mobile, internet, social network does not spoil children spoil the children shared students of Ramawapur Secondary School.

During the training session participants also highlighted that social networking’s have helped students to develop new ideas, innovations. At the end of the training, stakeholders were given attention that various school-level activities are also send through social networks as messages.

Competition were organized in 2 phase i.e English and Nepali medium for which 22 schools participated. In the Nepali medium, Sneha Shrestha secured first position, Sarisma Basnet in Second Position and Sudha Poudel from Mahakabi Devkota secured third position. Likewise, in English medium, Priya Lamsal from Nepal Secondary School, Janak Gaire from Nepal Loksewa Secondary School and Mahima Poudel from Ramawapur Secondary School secured First, Second and Third position in competition.
