Miss World 2016 crowning ceremony tonight: Asmi Shrestha vies for the crown

Miss World 2016 winner will be announced live tonight amidst a grand ceremony

Kathmandu, December 17, 2016: The grand finale of the 66th edition of the Miss World pageant is slated to take place tonight at the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland, United States, Washington, D.C. During the conclusion of the pageant, Mireia Lalaguna Royo of Spain will pass on her crown to her successor. Asmi Shrestha, Miss World Nepal 2016, is vying for the crown.

This is the first time Miss World pageant is happening in Washington DC, United States of America. A total 120 countries are competing to wear the coveted crown of Miss World. The pageant will begin at 2:15 AM NST sharp on December 18, Monday.

Meanwhile, Shrestha’s Beauty with a Purpose project, ‘Classroom & Beyond’ has been successful to make it into the top 5, from among all the contestants.

A graduate of Bachelor in Business Administration, Shrestha aspires to become an entrepreneur.
