National Boxing Fight Final Between Thapa and Magar

Kathmandu, February 8, 2019: The departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club Chandrakala Thapa and Armed Police Force (APF) clubs Sulav Thapa Magar is heading for the final round in Bir Ganeshman National Boxing Championship after winning the second final game on Thursday.

 The game played between women’s 54-57 weight at Basantapur, Thapa was able to defend Nirmala KC of Province-7. Likewise, APF’s Magar defeated Kusum of the province-3.

Similarly, in women’s 60-64 Kg weight category, Army’s Punam Rawal beat Aparijata Ghatane of Province-2, while Saraswati Rana of APF was able to beat Asmita Chand from Province-6 to reach the final. Also, in 57-60 Kg weight category, APF’s Sangeeta Sunar overcame Sangeeta Dangal of Province-5 and Sabina Shrestha of Tribhuvan Army Club beat Som Maya Limbu of Province 1 to reach the final. Minu Gurung of TAC and Nisha Tamang of Nepal Police Club will compete for the women’s 51-54Kg final.

Gurung beat Teji Gurung of Province-2 and Tamang beat Sanju Maya Thing of APF. Diwana Sharma of NPC swamped Lalita Maharjan of TAC in the 46-48Kg weight category and will meet Sushila Thapa of Province-5. Thapa earned a walkover win from Sushma Tamang of Province-3.
