Kathmandu, 5 Dec 2014 : The Akhanda Nepal Party has urged Prime Minister Sushil Koirala to ban animal sacrifice at different temples in the country.

The party has urged PM to take effective measures to ban animal sacrifice as it is a malpractice in the name of religion.

A delegation led by party chair and lawmaker Kumar Khadka called on PM Koirala at his official residence, Baluwatar today, and said that this malpractice has defamed the Hindu religion; therefore, it should be banned.

Hundreds of animals are sacrificed at Gadhimai Temple in this season and other temples across the country in the name of gaining power.

On the occasion, PM Koirala said that he would try to ban animal sacrifice as he dislikes it.
