Beni (Myagdi), Dec 24,2014: More than two dozens of villages in Myagdi are facing acute shortage of drinking water.
Locals of Bhakimli, Arman, Barngja, Rum, Okharbote, Mudi, among other VDCs have been compelled to walk for hours to fetch drinking water.
Tek Bahadur Thapa of Bhakimli said that they are reeling under water shortage after water sources in the VDCs are started drying up. The locals are facing the water shortage as most of the drinking water projects constructed in the areas are in dilapidated condition.
Similarly, daily activities of locals of ward no 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9 of Rum VDC have been affected due to the water shortage, said another local Hari BK.
More than 2,000 households in western Myagdi have been facing drinking water shortage.
