Bhimduttanagar, Jan 21: Public transport fare has been decreased on vehicles operating in rural areas from the headquarters of Baitadi district.
Transport entrepreneurs reduced the fare at the initiatives of the Nepal Students Union and local administration office.
The transport fare was decreased by three rupees per kilometre after the frequent pressure by the NSU, saying the vehicles did not adjust the public transport fare even if the price of petroleum products was decreased many times.
With the decrease of the transport fare, the fare from Gothalapani to Jhulaghat has been determined at Rs 95.
Likewise, the fare from the district headquarters to Dehimandu has been fixed at Rs 45, Satbanjh Rs 75, Sillegada Rs 115 and Basali Rs 150.
Similarly, the public transport fare from the district headquarters to Gokuleshwor has been determined at Rs 245, Patan Rs 115, Khodpe Rs 190 and Baitadi to Dadeldhura Rs 290.
