KOLKATA, November 13 2014:Â Rohit Sharma scores 264 runs in his return match for India in Eden Garden, Kolkata to become the first man to score 250+ in ODI Cricket getting out in the last ball of the first inning. Rohit Sharma also gets another record becoming the first man to score two 200+ score in One Day Cricket. India score 404/5 in the first inning against Sri Lanka, giving Sri Lanka an almost impossible score to chase.
Virat Kohli the stand-in captain of India for the series won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first on a track expected for better bowling under light. Virat Kohli also scored 66 in a 202 runs partnership with Sharma.
Sharma got his chance back at the top of the order as Shikhar Dhawan was rested for the match and he showed why he belongs at the top of the order with the amazing inning shutting all his critics up for the time being.
The run feast will continue with Sri Lanka trying to chase this big target but it’s not like it hasn’t been chased before. Everyone remembers the match between South Africa and Australia in this instance.
