Sindhuli Fair set to be organized from December 22

Kathmandu, December 13, 2016: Sindhuli Fair is going to be organized in the district from this December 22.

Sindhuli Chamber of Commerce and Industry is organizing the event under the banner ‘Let’s make Prosperous Sindhuli, improving the investment friendly agriculture, tourism, and industry sectors’. The 10-days long event will showcase a total of 250 stalls exhibiting various Sindhuli products including local agricultural products, domestic products of the district, products exhibiting the history and culture of the area including the products of national and multinational companies.

The organizer informed about the festival amidst a press conference in the capital on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Binesh Shrestha, President of SCCI said that as Sindhuli District is the store of historical, social, geographical, cultural and beauty, the festival is being organized to expose those rich aspects of the district. “We are organizing the festival to promote the products from Sindhuli and its touristic places,” he said.

Similarly, Coordinator of Properous Sindhuli Campaign, Lilanath Ghimire said that they are also conducting the visit Sindhuli campaign to take greater number of People to Sindhuli from Kathmandu. “As the next year is celebrating 250 years of the then Gorkha Armies defeating British Forces in Sindhuli Fort, the campaign has planned to conduct various programmes for the victory celebration,” he said. He added that they are organizing concerts by local artists from Sindhuli, homestay trainings to nearby villages from the Sindhuli Fort, photo exhibition of touristic places in the district and drama performance to reflect the then battle in Sindhuli Fort, among others.

The fair seeks to inform the domestic tourists about the history and importance of the religious, and historical touristic areas of the district, and promote the religious, cultural and historical tourism of the place. It also strives to promote the products of local entrepreneurs, and ensure the market for them, along with taking account of the product, attracting the banking sector to invest in small and medium enterprises in the district.

The event also has a motive to establish a market for the products from agricultural and animal husbandry sectors in the district, and provide information about the quality of the local products amongst the consumers. With the consumption of local products, the fair also seeks to increase the saving and buying capacity of the consumers, the organizers said.

Also, by promoting the local touristic places, the fair seeks to ultimately help bring in domestic and domestic tourists.

Various competitive exhibitions of fundamental products of Sindhuli are to be organized in the festival.

The festival will also see special exhibition of Junar fruits.

As part of the fair, visitors will be taken to Kamalamai temple visit, along with the visits of other historical, religious and other captivating places in the district including the Sindhuli Fort, Langrang hill, Fikkal hill, and Haripur Fort.

The festival is slated to be inaugurated by Minister of Finance Krishna Bahadur Mahara.

The 10-days long festival seeks to attract a total of 5,00,000 people including entrepreneurs, financial organizations, school and college students, government and non-government officers and researchers among others; and see a transaction worth more than 50 million rupees.
