World Nepali Literature Festival set to take place from Feb 26

Dhangadi: The ‘World Nepali Literature Festival’ is going to be held from February 26 to March 3. The programme is hosted by Sudurpashchim Regional Literature Society.

The festival will be inaugurated by President Bidya Devi Bhandari. Over 200 Nepali writers, poets and litterateurs from Nepal and other countries including India, Myanmar ,Bhutan, Burma, America and Bangladesh will participate in the literature festival.

According to the President of the Sudur Paschim Literary Society, Ram Lal Joshi, the festival is being organized to promote the literature, art and culture of the Sudur Paschim region as well as to learn about the same from other places.

Joshi added that according to the schedule, they will honour Rastrakavi (National Poet) Madhav Prasad Ghimire, culture expert Satyamohan Joshi, senior litterateur Lila Bahadur Chhetri, former chief minister of the Indian state of Sikkim and senior litterateur Dr Pawan Chamling at the inaugural session.

Hotel Entrepreneurs Association Kailali is hosting the food festival. A food festival offering varieties of local cuisine has been scheduled targeting the literary festival. Hotel Entrepreneurs Association President, Kamal Bom said 25 stalls featuring local dishes will be arranged during the festival.
