Kathmandu, November 13, 2016: Nepalese Youth for Climate Action (NYCA) on Saturday organized the ‘COP 22 Ground Action Event’ at Patan Durbar Square to celebrate the ‘Global Day of Action’. The day is generally celebrated worldwide on first Saturday during COP (Conference Of Parties) to pressurize the global leaders and sensitize the general public about climate change.
On the occasion, NYCA demonstrated the awareness through public stunt by performing drama, flashmob, screening of the documentary ‘Before the Flood’, posters display and collecting and publishing the voices from public on climate change issues.
The programme was held in collaboration with Clean Energy Nepal, Oxfam, Alliance for Agriculture and Food and GROW .
The 22nd session of the COP is happening in Marrakesh this year from November 7 to 18.
