22 metric tons solid waste managed to mark 116th week of Clean Bagmati campaign

Kathmandu, Aug. 1: Around 22 metric tons of solid waste were managed from the bank of Bagmati river near the TU gate in Balkhu under the 116th week of Clean Bagmati Campaign this morning.

Along with river Bagmati, the Bhishnumati river and the Shova Bhagwati temple area were also cleaned today, said Chief of Kathmandu Metropolis Environment Management Division Rabinman Shrestha.

Solid waste including plastics, glass particles, sacks and bio waste were collected from the river bank.

Chief Secretary Lilamani Paudyal has been leading the campaign. Along with the metropolis staffers,representatives of various social organizations, local residents and security personnel took part in the cleaning campaign today
