Its fourth SAFF cup and Nepal was still unable to perform best and win the championship. Even Nepal was unable to reach the final in fourth attempt too.
1999 – India
India hosted the fourth
edition of SAFF championship.Nepal were drawn in Group B for the first time as in previous edition Nepal were drawn in group A. In group B Nepal were drawn alongside Maldives and Sri Lanka.
Nepal finished second in the group and advanced to the semi finals. However, the dream to win the mega event came to an end as Nepal was defeated 2-1
by Bangladesh in the semi-
finals.
Similarly, Nepal faild to finished third as Nepal was defeated 2-0 in third place play off against Maldives. Tgerefore Nepal finished fourth in the fourth edition.
India was the winner of the fourth edition of SAFF championship.
